The One about 2PM’s Song

August 5, 2010

Thank You
2PM

i don’t know how to tell you this
words are not enough to express this
i couldn’t say anything
i was just so thankful
i didn’t know what to do

why~
why do you like me?
out of all these people, you chose me.

i~
the things i can do for you
are not enough, so i made this song.

so i thank you, thank you, thank you.
and i love you, love you, love you.
i couldn’t do anything for you
but you always just give to me endlessly.

so i thank you, thank you, thank you.
and i love you, love you, love you.
because of the love you sent my way,
i’m able to stand right here like this.

having to live on as you love me
i know that it’s so hard~ yeah, yeah~
but you always just stand there
without any change, just for me.

why~
why don’t you turn back?
it must be so hard for you.
why do you keep loving me?

i~
i don’t know how to pay you back
so i made this song.

so i thank you, thank you, thank you.
and i love you, love you, love you.
i couldn’t do anything for you
but you always just give to me endlessly.

so i thank you, thank you, thank you.
and i love you, love you, love you.
because of the love you sent my way,
i’m able to stand right here like this.

your heart,
and the tears you’ve spilled.
i’ll never forget them.

so i thank you, thank you, thank you.
and i love you, love you, love you.
i couldn’t do anything for you
but you always just give to me endlessly.

so i thank you, thank you, thank you.
and i love you, love you, love you.
because of the love you sent my way,
i’m able to stand right here like this.

The One about OneWay

@onewaypeter, @onewaychance, @onewayypugsky!:)

since i wasn’t able to send you guys a letter, here’s an entry dedicated to you guys.:)

i didn’t cry on your last day but right now i feel like crying.T.T

i’m sorry i wasn’t able to be with you guys on all your shows and guesting. i had classes on those days.T.T i wish i could’ve spent more time with you guys during your stay here.T.T

i want to thank you guys for accepting our invitation for you guys to come and promote here. ate vannessa and all the staffs worked hard for everything to go smoothly. and when you came, it felt like we won an award.^^

your fanbase here in the Philippines was founded March 17 2010  and we didn’t think that it was possible for you guys to come, but you did. it showed how much you guys value your work and your fans.

i was fortunate enough to meet you guys personally during the OneWay Philippines courtesy call last wednesday, july 28 2010. i came directly from school that explains my uniform. hahahaha. i really didin’t know how to approach you guys since i’m a fan, and the artists i support are right in front of me. can you say star struck.^^ to be honest, i was really shy and awkward. hahahaha^^

when ate vannessa told you guys that i was the one who made the wallpapers and the shirt and lanyard designs, i was really happy that you guys appreciated my works. it’s a first, really. it’s the first time a well-known figure appreciated something i made. Chance used his wallpaper as his display picture and Peter said he used his as his wallpaper on his computer. i was really happy and i really don’t know what to say so i just smiled.^^

you guys are the first international artist i ever met in my whole life.^^ you guys never treated us as fans. but you treated us as your friends. and that means a lot to us.^^ i want to say that you guys are awesome. i know you guys are tired after all the guesting you did but you still gave a 100% performances during your mall shows.^^

honestly, i wanted to give you guys necklaces, but i didn’t have time to shop. so i just decided on giving you guys the wallpaper i made and i had it printed out as a poster.^^ i hope you guys liked it and kept it.^^ it’s not much, but i wanted to give something for you guys.^^

on the last leg of your mall tour in SM Mall of Asia, i had my CD signed. i thought you guys have forgotten me already since i wasn’t able to go to SkyDome and i was outside of the VIP area during your SM Megamall show. but you guys didn’t.:) or i don’t know.:P when sky asked me: “hey, sup? were you there yesterday? (yes, i was there.) oh, really? (yep.) i didn’t see you.” it was because i was outside taking photos of the fans and all the happenings. hahahha.^^

i hope you guys won’t forget us.:) and we’ll continue supporting you guys.:) like what peter said: “Seeing you guys cry before we left was kinda heartbreaking but those tears weren tears of joy and not tears of sorrow. It’s not a goodbye but a see (you) later and see you soon.”

i’m tearing up right now. hahahaha. i realized how much i’ve missed on those days that i wasn’t able to go.T.T i know, i missed a lot. and i felt, as an admin of your fanbase, i should’ve spent more time with you guys and got to know you guys better.T.T

next time, when you come back here, i hope you guys will still remember me, remember us.:) we’ll be looking forward for your next album!:) see you soon guys!:)

The One About SONA 2010.

July 26, 2010

Here is the full transcript of President Benigno Aquino Jr.’s State of the Nation Address held at the Batasang Pambansa, July 26 2010 at 04:00 in the afternoon.

———————————————————————

Speaker Feliciano Belmonte; Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile; Vice President Jejomar Binay; Chief Justice Renato Corona; Former Presidents Fidel Valdez Ramos and Joseph Ejercito Estrada; members of the House of Representatives and the Senate; distinguished members of the diplomatic corps; my fellow workers in government;

The One About Letting Go…

August 22, 2009

Lately i have been hooked on Asian movies, music, and stuff. (hey, i’m Filipino, i’m asian too…) and Koren music is on the top of my list.. i don’t know, there’s something about korean music that catches your attention. it’s either, the melody, the message, or the feel of the songs that just captures you or the dance moves that accompanies these songs. For example, Wondergirl’s “Nobody” was in my head for almost a month. honestly!

Another thing about korean music is that they incorporate upbeat music with sad lyrics. it’s a new mix compared to a melodramatic songs that would make you feel so low. Korean songs are just wow. hahaha..

Recently, i’ve been listening to Super Junior, Big Bang, F.T Island, and 2PM… These are “Boy Groups” from Korea and i guess, i like their music because their lyrics are placed in the point of view of the guys. and somehow, i can feel their message. I like their music, seperately, but Super Junior really catches my attention, specially their “Sorry, Sorry” and “Don’t Don” albums.

“Sorry, Sorry” album is full of songs that are so full of emotions. Sad songs that can really hit you in the spot. it’s hard for guys to admit how they feel towards someone. Sometimes they even try to hide the pain after breaking-up. It’s all about pride and Machismo. but Super Junior changes all that. They sang songs expressing how they felt that, us guys, can relate too. specially in the”Sorry, Sorry” album, most of the songs are just sad and about breaking up or wanting to turn back the time to have another chance. Most of the guys in our generation wouldn’t admit that they still love that special someone. Instead, they will try to find anothe to cover-up the feeling they have.

well, i’m sorry if this entry is kind of unorganized. i just wrote what’s on my mind.

i like this song from Super Junior. It’s called “She’s Gone”… listen to it, and feel the song, you might end up tearing.

She’s Gone (English Translation)

When did you start becoming weary of me
What burdens did I give you
To you, no longer say anything
I’ve become unable to ask now
Without the usual grumbling
Still smiling that polite smile
Losing the sadness that passed by your eyes
I’m sorry, it was absentminded stupidity on my part
my love

When I see you with your back turned to me
The time love clearly took
Now I can see it too
Like a time of separation
I saw it comingI didn’t know you were such a part of me
If I could turn it all backNo, if you would smile for me just once more
By myself, I’m unable to hold your heart
Because of foolish pride, I’m sorry
my love

When I look at how cold you’ve become
The separation spreading in this instance
Now I know there’s nothing to be done
In the name of love
Slowly like changing colors
Love is leaving me
I didn’t know I had it to begin with
Even words of apology
Although I’m as sorry as this
What could a person like me
Say and how could I say it
Like I can’t breathe, I’m dizzy
Inside lost time
Even if I roam quickly
The only thing I could do now
Is that I can’t do anything
When I see you with your back turned to me
The time love clearly took
Now I can see it too
Like a time of separation
I saw it coming
I didn’t know you were such a part of me

One about US, being God’s Dwelling Place

August 9, 2009

Isn’t it very strange how some songs written by complete strangers who lead completely different lives can nevertheless speak whatever you and I are unable to put into words? How then can music fashioned by another sense become so one’s own whether one’s sings it, or simply listens to it. When the Lord fashions a song in and through the heart of one person, the Lord inevitably placed that song not only through its fashioner but in and through all who care enough to sing it and to listen to it.

We are God’s dwelling place. Our persons, our bodies, our spirits are home to God’s song. We may be ravaged by the merciless trespass of disease, made febrile by abiding pain, sheered and weakened by endless treatment. But even then, even then, the Lord rests and finds comfort in us, His dwelling place. We may be hardened by failed relationships, shrunk down and shriveled up by wrong choices, made ugly by pain we inflict on ourselves, and on others. But even then, even then, the Lord rests and finds comfort in us, His dwelling place.

And that gives us comfort. You have the Lord within you, and when you sing or listen to a beautiful song that speaks about you, it is the Lord. It is the Lord who finds His home in you. It is the Lord who sings His song to you to make it your own. And how lovely indeed is this dwelling place of His.

The One about Pseudo Relationships

June 12, 2009

i got this from a friend in facebook, sorry some words are in Filipino, i’ll try to translate it sometime…
but hey, if you’re Pinoy, read on and comment!:D

————————————————-
Pseudo-relationships

Almost like a relationship, but not quite.
It is a phase where the persons involved
are more than friends, but not quite lovers.
Puwedeng may verbal agreement,
puwedeng wala.
One or both of you may have admitted
your feelings, possible din na hindi.
You just let your gestures do the talking
for you.
Walang pormal na ligawan na nangyari.
Hindi kayo.
Pero sa kilos niyo,
sa mga sinasabi niyo,
parang kayo, pero hindi.
This kind of “relationship”
can happen at different stages
for different reasons.
It can happen after a break-up.
You still love each other,
and you want to be with each other
but you broke up for a reason.
And for reasons that you alone know,
ayaw niyo na muna magkabalikan.
It can also happen before a relationship,
iyong pareho kayong nakikiramdam.
Possible din na ayaw niyo munang mag-
seryoso kaya kunwa-kunwarian lang muna.
Testing lang. (tama ba un?!)
Puwede ring hindi puwedeng maging
kayo kasi isa sa inyo may ka-relasyon na.
Kaya habang hindi pa siya
nakikipag-break doon sa boy/girl,
wala muna kayong relasyon
para nga naman hindi siya nangangaliwa
kasi “hindi naman kayo.”
This pseudo-relationship stage,
for a time, can be fun.
Lalo na kung naghahanap
ka lang naman ng kalaro
Pero huwag ka lang mag-e-expect
na may patutunguhan kayo kze
wala talagang kasiguraduhan.
So bakit ang daming nagse-settle
sa ganitong set-up ganoong
hindi naman sigurado
kung may patutunguhan?
Iba’t ibang dahilan.
Puwedeng for fun lang.
Puwedeng “buti na iyan kesa wala”
Meaning, habang wala pa yong the real
thing,
doon muna sa kunwa-kunwarian.
For those who are not in a serious
relationship,
they would think that pseudo-relationship
is better than no relationship at all.
It would be fun, if all you’re after
is that “kilig” feeling.
But then I learned that although it was
only a pseudo-relationship,
the emotions were real.
And usually, in this kind of set up,
merong malulugi..
“ung nainlove sa taong taken na..”
Una, you can’t ask him/her to commit.
Since it’s not really a relationship,
you can’t demand commitment from your
partner.
Ano ba kayo?
You will always be uncertain
about your role in his/her life.
You can’t expect him/her
to be always there with you.
And if you feel jealous of the other
boys/girls,
you just have to keep it to yourself.
Ano ka ba niya para magselos?
Pangalawa, what if
you fall deeply in love with him/her?
You can’t be sure if he/she feels the same
way.
Baka nag-a-assume ka lang
na mahal ka rin niya.
Even if you are dying
to tell him/her you love him/her,
you can’t.
Because you’re not sure
if he/she will like it.
Baka mapahiya ka lang.
This stage will always make you wonder
where you are in the relationship.
Or if there is a relationship at all.
Pangatlo, what if you become attached
too much?
What if you have invested
all your emotions and this man/woman
hasn’t?
What if you remain faithful to him/her,
not entertaining other guys/gals,
only to find out that he/she is seeing
other girls/boys?
Isa pang downside ng pseudo-
relationships,
it is fleeting.
When a disagreement sets in,
or when one of you gets cold,
then that would be the end of it.
Unlike in a serious relationship,
hindi mo alam kung saan ka lulugar
sa isang pseudo-relationship.
Wala kang pinanghahawakan.
Kasi sa pseudo- relationship,
there is no “us.”
Meron lang “you and me,”
but not “us”.

The One about Chance or Choice

May 17, 2009

i got this from an email and i want to share it with you guys.:D

Chance or Choice

When we meet the right person to love when we’re at the right place at the right time, that’s chance.

When you meet someone you’re attracted to, that’s not a choice. That’s chance.

Being caught up in a moment (and there’s a lot of couples who get together because of this) is not a choice. That’s also a chance.

The difference is what happens afterwards. When will you take that infatuation, that crush, that mind-blowing attraction to the next level?

That’s when all sanity goes back, you sit down and contemplate whether you want to make this into a concrete relationship or just a fling. If you decide to love a person, even with his faults, that’s not a chance. That’s choice.

When you choose to be with a person, no matter what, that’s choice.

Even if you know there are many people out there who are more
attractive, smarter, and richer than your mate, and yet, you decide to love your mate just the same, that’s choice.

Infatuation, crushes, attraction comes to us by chance.
But true love that lasts is truly a choice. A choice that we make.

Regarding soul mates, there’s a beautiful movie quote that I believe is so true about this: “Fate brings you together, but it’’s still up to you to make it happen.”

I do believe that soul mates do exist. That there is truly someone made for you. But it’s still up to you to make the choice if you’re going to do something about it or not. We may meet our soul mates by chance, but loving and staying with our soul mates is still a choice we have to make.

The One about Hunger and Hope.

April 28, 2009
Hunger and Poverty are two of the most seen problems in our world today. A lot of food are wasted every single day. That’s a fact. All of us are guilty for wasting food. How? For example, if you ate a food that is not palatable, will you eat it or throw it away? A lot will throw it awaya and that’s a waste of money and food. A lot do this and because of it, a lot of people suffer because of hunger. We love to eat. It is a necessity of life but not everyone are fortunate to have this necessity.

When you eat a lot and throw away the excess, do you think about the people who aren’t able to eat? Do you think about these people who would do everything just to have a speck of what you have? Someone would even kill to just ahve food to eat for a day and we just throw it away.

So, how can we help? What can we do?

WE CAN DO A LOT!

We can join organizations that cater to countries or groups that experience hunger.
We can donate a little amount of money to these organizations.
We can conduct our own feeding programs in public schools and slums.
We can just take the exact food we will eat so we won’t have excess or if ever we will have excess, keep it in the fridge, or give it to the beggars by the street.

Simple things can make a change.
Helping out can make a change.

If we can do these, we can help others. And by our helping hands, we can change lives. Our simple acts can give hope to other people. it can serve as an inspiration for others to take time and also help. By doing a chain reaction, we can solve these problems, and we can help the less fortunate to have a brighter future and a more positive view in life.

Start with something small and work your way to something even bigger!

TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

The One about Earth Day

April 21, 2009

tomorrow is Earth Day and it will also be the day that macCrazy, our MacBook, would be going to the apple store to be fixed, one USB port isn’t working… aww… anyway, i just came back from a beach trip with my family and there i saw the beauty and marvel of our planet.

——————————————————————

Our planet is our source of shelter, food, clothing, and all our other necessities. we couldn’t live without the trees around us, the animals in the wild, the plants, the fresh clear waters, and the vast deep oceans. these simple things around us supply our needs everyday. we can get paper from trees, food from the animals, water from drinking, and oxygen from the plants. But now, we tend to take these for granted. If we don’t stop now, soon we’ll be suffering greatly.

how can we help save mother nature?

there are a lot of ways! for example, we can reuse one-sided papers for scratch, or we can even make our own apers from these. the plastic bottles we get from softdrinks and canisters, we can use it as plant pots, just decorate it the way you like and display! we can lessen the water consumption by limiting our use of it. when we wash cars, use water and bucket instead of a hose, this way we can limit the consumption of water. and also, by simply turning off the lights and other appliances, when not in use, is one great way to preserve energy!:D

Join us in making our world a better place!

spread the word, spread the love.

The One about deaths and new beginnings

April 19, 2009

Life, it is the most wonderful gift God has given us. We treasure it so much that sometimes we become vain and self-conscious. But sometimes we tend to value possessions more than ourselves. God gave us the responsibility to be able to show others that they are accepted and loved no matter how they look and what they are. Our looks are just skin deep and waht we should value more is our inner selves.

”What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

We all know that and that quotation, from Antione de Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince, summarizes everything. Looks can fade away, but who you are does not. we all just need to accept the fact that there are people who are better than us. yes, that’s the relaity of life. it is unfair, unjust, and we can’t win it all. Sometimes we just have to trust ourselves. We shouldn’t take things for granted. we should value and treasure every second we have. We won’t live forever.

————————————

Today, i saw 4 wakes and 2 funerals. It just occured to me how much people tend to overlook the precious life God has given us. Yes, He just lent us our lives, but we should take care of it. Some people just do what they want and when death comes, they start to point everything to someone else. on the other hand, some people are just not lucky. some are sick with incurable cancer, and some are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Death will come. It won’t remind us. It won’t tell us. Anytime, anywhere it can come.

so, i wrote this entry to tell everyone reading this to ponder on these questions:

Do your parents, friends, siblings, relatives know that you love them? have you thanked them in anyway for anything that they have given or done to you? have you asked for forgiveness form the people you’ve hurt and forgive the people who hurt you?

these things can help. it isn’t nice to hold grudges and the thoughts of what if’s and what not’s… regret, it might happen to you.

so take time to enjoy life and make sure you tell others how you really feel. it’s good for you and it’ll  bring  a smile on someone else’s life.

spread the love!:D

PS: i really do not know how to write a meaningful and awesome entry, but hey i tried.

The One about falling in love

April 5, 2009

Awww love, isn’t it the most wonderful thing in the whole while world? we can express it the way we want. some sing, some paint, some draw, some write, and some even dance. Love is the greatest feeling that one can have, it is a gift from God tahat we should share with other people. If you watched Moulin Rouge, you’ll remember this line: “To love, and to be loved in return…” Love is a feeling that should be reciprocated. Even though sometimes, there are instances where we love, and be rejected. but somehow we don’t lose hope becuse being in love is great. and the feeling of being rejected may hiurt, but the feeling of love is still there and sometimes, we just hold on, because we know that even if the person we love doesn’t love us, we are happy just beingwith them. it may sound stupid and all, but isnt it true?

No one can live without loving.

i’d like to share with you wht Mew said in the movie, the Love of Siam because sometimes we have these inclination in our minds. these questions that we want to be answered. this was the part where Mew and Tong were talking while lying in bed.:

“Frigtheningly lonely… It’s like when we were younger, we were so lonely because we didn’t have a lot of friends. And now that we are grown ups, loneliness seems, just so much worse. I don’t know how to explain it… So I have one question. If we can love someone so much how will we be able to handle it the one day when we are separated? And, if being separated is a part of life and you know about separation well. Is it possible Tong, that we can love someone and never be afraid of losing them? At the same time, I was wondering. Is it possible that, we can live our entire life without loving anyone at all? That’s my loneliness.”

Love maybe hard at times, but there is no way that we live without loving someone. sometimes, we just need to wait, and the right one will come at the right time.:D

Throw The List Away by Trading Voices

Don’t be shy
were the words
your very first
and got you pegged as a typical guy
you’re not the type of guy that I go for
follow me so I can show you the door
I thought I knew you right from the start
but you were more then I was ready for
so quick to disarm
by the end of the night
you were doing alright
guard down, attention caught
with a sense of humor and a little sweet talk
I pulled the list from my pocket and checked it twice
it’s got everything I want
so I don’t roll the dice
qualifications for the man I chose
and not a single one reminds me of you

wish that I could get you out of my head
you are everything I never knew I wanted
I could waste everday with you
want to run
giving up instead
you are everything I never knew I wanted
now I’m stuck and in love with you

A late night on the town is a girl’s best friend
but you’re in bed by a quarter to 10
I like em clean with a touch of cologne
you have a stain on every shirt you own
I walk when you run
you begin when I’m done
O how I could count the ways
your gonna drive me crazy every single day
but I would never change a thing
I’d rather see what the future brings
and to think that I almost passed you by

I knew what I wanted
set in my ways
but you opened up my eyes
and you shook me awake
I felt your embrace
and I threw the list away

awwww love, why do you have to be so hard to please?

The One About Randomness…

March 31, 2009

are there times when you feel like you’re unsure. like there are things holding you back and you just want to do anything. i do. and i ended up writing this…

—————————————————————–

Have you ever felt like you don’t belong in a certain place?
Like you’re still looking for that place that could make you feel that you fit in.
Have you ever felt that life is unfair?
It’s like you’re stuck in a bubble that you can’t burst.
Hindering you from doing what you want.
Taking your freedom, locking you away from reality.
Have you ever felt that you are only a small speck of dust in the world?
Like you don’t matter to anyone.
Like you’re invisible to the naked eye of people you thought were true.
Have you felt that the world is going down on you?
The instances that what you want doesn’t happen;
What you hoped for doesn’t come?
Have you ever seen yourself as someone who is useless?
No matter what you do, it always felt wrong.
No matter what you say, it all seems like a lie.
Have you ever dreamt of being someone you’re not?
Like someone who is popular being sought by everyone; just to escape reality?
Life’s full of lies that make you think everything is true. Ironic isn’t it?
Life gave you what you didn’t want to see.
It spread its soothing lullaby, etching across your horrid mind.
Words can’t really explain what you feel.
The pitter-pattering of questions lingers on your head, and you STOP!
Questions are answered. Answers you wish aren’t real.
Then you look back. You see yourself filled with selfish aura.
Your eyes turned black. And suddenly, you disappear.
Traces of your existence vanished. And you got what you wanted.
Now you fit perfectly in the place you are in.
And millions and millions of companions support you.
You’re no longer you, but a star, a shining star strewn across the velvet sky.
And you were happy.

The One about Our Situation

March 11, 2009

here’s a poem by my good friend Jules Joaquin. it’s about the situation of our country (Philippines) and he used Edgar Allan Poe as the main character.:)

EDGAR ALLAN POE IN RAGS
Jules Joaquin

“Everything is going wrong.”
-Edgar Allan Poe from The Pit and the Pendulum

I.
EDGAR ALLAN POE stood next to the walls
Of Manila Bay to hustle a few coins with his poetry.
           “Nevermore!” he says,
And the kindly lady with the fake eyelashes gives him two pesos
for a stick of Winston lights and a chance to flirt with the daughter
     of the tindera.
He walks with new slippers he bought from Divisoria
To escape the smell of fish and the smell of fishy fishermen
And goes straight to manang and buys a Stork and cigarettes.
“Good morning.” He says and smiles at manong,
He doesn’t have teeth anymore and can’t afford pustiso,
And his bad breath keeps him from getting girls into loving him
“Oh Virginia!” Poe says with indignation.
It had seemed such a long time ago when he was in love,
Maybe too long ago or maybe it never happened—
Reality was too lucid to tell, and he walks back to Manila Bay
With a half-finished drag and a salivated Stork
And now he has to hustle a lot more coins to be able to eat lunch

II.
THE AFTERNOONS were hot in Manila,
And Edgar Allan in his shorts and his t-shirt saying “Tide Detergent Bar”
Would retire to the shade of a narra tree and watch the people go by.
Why had he not worked in a factory?
Was it the poetry or the apathy,
Or the dark probinsyano males and the dark city men and women
Who all smelled like dried sweat and 555 Sardines?

Oh, but they all live better than he!

They could at least afford electricity
And watch Mariel Rodriguez and Ding Dong Dantes
 Smooching underwater on TV,
Or maybe watch tragedies unfold on TV Patrol with Noli de Castro,
It doesn’t matter. All he knew
Was that he couldn’t pay for these things.
He dictates a phrase or some form of mantra he learned from Siso the Divine Squatter
in his mind: “Isang kayod, isang tuka!”
And he doesn’t even know what it means,
For in this country, he was illiterate
And no one gave a shit about his English poetry.

But people spent good money on average quality overpriced clothing,
On magazines on magazine racks showing Joyce Jimenez
      with no nose after surgery,

On melamine-laced milk bought from the Tsinita lady
       who sold bad repackaged candy
On a movie starring a buffoonish Zac Efron and a whory
Vanessa Hudgens which was really shit
On a Hannah Montana Barbie doll with a miniature plastic
       guitar that she can’t play
On crappy amateur porn bought from a Bumbay in
      the tiangge section of Greenhills
On cheap gin and cheap brandy and synthetic cognac
which is really just cheap brandy
On a pot-bellied hooker haunting the streets of a desolate
        Quezon Ave. at night
On siopao bought from Kowloon House West Triangle
that had already been ravaged by flies
On a book sharing awful text jokes you would find on the
Bestseller’s list in National Bookstore (only in the Philippines!)
But nobody had ever gave a shit about his poetry
 That’s crazy!

 III.
AT NIGHT, Edgar Allan would go bar-hopping—
To the ones which required no entrance fee at least.

One time, he saw a washed-up old Mike Hanopol
Singing “No Touch” to a crowd of teenaged alcoholics
Who would’ve traded him without much thought
For the croonings of Cueshe or Callalily.
This crazy old man was another ghost in the history of this country
And he would never sing to a crowd of adoring female groupies again,
 Those who would throw their panties at him;
Well, once maybe, but that would be a 50-year old waitress in Kampay bar
Along Katipunan Extension who would remember him from his old days

But at least he would be remembered,
Edgar Allan Poe would never have that.

Tricycle drivers would not even take Edgar anywhere,
For they thought he was a lunatic drug addict
with his mottled face and his drowning eyes
Although they would do shabu every Friday and they
would hit their children if they would dare cry.

And the policemen were even worse.
They would at first make fun of Edgar Allan for he was white.
They would say: “Mestiso ka ah, bakit ka pulubi at bobo?”
And then they would laugh and would spend the rest of the day
Scavenging for taxi drivers. The police men were all hustlers too.
With the right words to these uneducated drivers, they knew they would
be able to make 500 pesos quick,
And by midnight, they would then drive their police cars
To the nearest comedy bar in Morato
And slap a cross-dressing, singing gay man’s ass with bottles of
San Mig Lights in their hands.

At around this time someplace else, Edgar Allan would already
Try sleeping under a blanket fashioned from cardboard found on a sidewalk
Would actually sleep on the sidewalk,
And in the morning, he would find a cockroach stuck up his crotch.

IV.
EDGAR ALLAN POE came to the city for he heard that the bourgeoisie and the elite
        paid good money for art
That they in their well-educated minds would appreciate his poetry
more than the people from Bataan, or Batangas or wherever he came from did
Because these people were not savages.
He had heard about the painter who had married an affluent beautiful widow
for she had orgasms when she saw his paintings,
Had heard about a certain poet who traveled in the circles of the Ayalas,
the Urdanetas, the Go-Ocos and the Tantocos simply because
       he was brilliant
What more would he, the master of meter get?
It simply was too good an opportunity to pass up.

 V.
HE LEFT the province at around 9:00 EST drunk on lambanog
And full of sisig, pinaitan and pork barbecue,
With a still decent 6000 pesos in his wallet and a folder full
Of scattered poems—from Annabel Lee to The Bells,
To Dream Within A Dream to The Raven,
These were all brilliant works of art which had been overlooked
When he was still with morons in Bataan or Batangas or wherever,
And now he would be able to achieve with almost no difficulty
the fame and the success that he had always wanted

He imagined the elite embracing him with open arms and telling him
things such as “I understood and I felt the absolute isolation
that the persona in The Raven felt, and maybe the titular character
was just a facet of himself”
Things that were intellectual and succinct and poetic,
“Astig pare!”—none of that shit anymore.

He arrived in the city at 12:00 EST sobered up already,
Hungry from the three hour trip with no air-con and with a lady
constantly talking about Judy Anne Santos to her friend
With a still decent 5500 pesos in his wallet and still the folder
Containing what would be considered a magnum opus in the future.

But a city that never sleeps is a city that never dreams,
And the intellectuals that he had hoped to understand him
Had snubbed him, for they in all pretentiousness forgot poetry
And he had been reduced to a two-bit writer
Looking for a job in the city,
Now with only 300 pesos in his wallet, no friends nor lovers
(“Oh Virginia!” he says with indignation)
Reduced also to a two-bit hustler who would hustle for coins
Using phrases and dramatic performances that involved saying

“Hear the bells, bells, bells, silver bells, what a world of merriment, their melody foretells,”

People never caring, never listening only giving money out of fear
of the mustached lunatic in Manila Bay who thinks he’s a
         poet,
And then he lost his money, his shoes, his socks, his long-sleeved polo,
his sarong, his barong, his necktie, his slacks, his leather shoes,
         his suitcase, his watch
And he pawned the last piece of sentimental knick knacks that he received
from various beloved people to Tambunting.
Which would then give money to Tara, the heiress, to buy marijuana
and screw Chris Tiu someday, when they’re both forgotten
and screwing would not be scandalous anymore.

VI.
EDGAR ALLAN POE DRESSED IN RAGS walks around
Manila Bay in the morning, unwanted,
And whispers to himself with no lying cynicism,
with no money, nor food, nor clothes nor dignity
A half-hearted and a dying “Nevermore.”

The one about "Gan Lae Gan"

February 25, 2009

Gan Lae Gan” by Witwisit Hiranyawongkul is from the OST of the movie “The Love of Siam” it tells about love and how one person completes the other. this songs simply shows how much love there is to give, and how much there is to receive. a simple song with great accompaniment and lyrics.:D sadly it’s in Thai but here’s the lyrics and translation…:)

SPREAD THE LOVE!:D

————————————————————————————————

Gan Lae Gan

Witwisit Hiranyawongkul

taa bok waa pleng nee dtaeng hai ter
If I said that I wrote this song for you
ter ja cheua mai
Would you believe me?
man aat mai pror mai seung mai suay ngaam
It might not be as well-written or beautiful
meuan pleng tua bpai
Like other songs
yaak hai roo waa pleng rak
I want you to know that a love song
taa mai rak gor kian mai dai
Can’t be written if you’re not in love
dtae gap ter kon dee roo mai
But for you, my dear
chan kian yaang ngaai daai
I wrote this song so easily

ter kong koie dai-yin pleng rak maa nap roi pan
You might have heard hundreds or thousands of love songs
man aat ja dohn jai
They might be meaningful
dtae gor mee kwaam maai meuan-meuan gan
But they are meant for anyone
dtae taa ter fang pleng nee
But when you listen to this song
pleng tee kian peua ter tao nan
A song that’s written only for you
If you understand the meaning, then our hearts
ja daai mee gan lae gan
Will be together as one

hai man bpen pleng bon taang dern kiang
Let it be a song on the path we walk together
tee ja mee piang siang ter gap chan
That only has voices of you and me
yoo duay gan dtraap naannaan
Together as long as possible
dang nai jai kwaam bok nai ga-wee
Just like a line from a poem
waa dtraap dai tee mee rak yom mee wang
As long as you have love, you still have hope
keu took krang tee rak kong ter song jai
Every time your love shines in my heart
chan mee bplaai taang
I can see my destiny

mee kwaam jing yoo nai kwaam rak dtang maak maai
There are so many truths in love
lae tee paan maa chan chai way-laa
And in the past, I spent a lot of time
peua haa kwaam maai
Searching for its meaning
dtae mai naan gor perng roo
But now I just know
meua took krang tee mee ter glai
Whenever you are near
waa taa chee-wit keu tam nong ter gor bpen dang kam rong
I know that if life is a melody, you are the lyrics
tee pror lae seung jap jai
That give it meaning and make it beautiful

hai man bpen pleng bon taang dern kiang
Let it be a song on the path we walk together
tee ja mee piang siang ter gap chan
That only has voices of you and me
yoo duay gan dtraap naannaan
Together as long as possible
dang nai jai kwaam bok nai ga-wee
Just like a line from a poem
waa dtraap dai tee mee rak yom mee wang

Every time your love shines in my heart
chan mee bplaai taang
I can see my destiny

mee taang dern hai rao dern kiang
There’s a path for us to walk together
lae mee siang kong ter gap chan
And there are voices of you and me
mee taang dern hai rao dern ruam kiang
There’s a path for us to walk together side by side
lae mee siang kong ter gap chan
And there are voices of you and me

The One about The Love of Siam

February 22, 2009

I watched this film because a lot of people has recommended it. So I did and this is my review.

Most people will brand this film as a “Gay Flick” because the lead characters, Mew (Witwisit Hiranyawongkul) and Tong (Mario Maurer) had a sort of relationship in the movie.. they even kissed! but other than that, the film’s main focus is not about the relationship of the two but rather, it focuses more on family and friendship.

————————————-
PLOT
————————————-
Mew, a stubborn kid, is neighbor to Tong, an energetic boy who lives with his parents and sister. After accidentally spitting gum into Mew’s hair, Tong wanted to befriend Mew but was unsuccessful. At school, Mew was cornered by several other students was harassed until Tong stepped in to defend him. Tong was injured and apoligized to Mew for the chewing gum incident. Mew was grateful for Tong stepping in and responded that they were even. The two became good friends from that point on.

Mew plays on his grandpa’s piano and is joined by his grandma, who begins to play a song. Mew asks his grandma why she liked that song and his grandma responded with telling Mew that it was played for her by his grandpa. It was a way for him to express his love to her and explains that one day, Mew will be able to do the same for the person he loved.

Tong’s family goes to Chiangmai and returns without Tong’s sister Tang since she wanted to stay with her friends a couple days more. Tong bought Mew a present and decided to give it to Mew piece by piece in a game of Treasure Hunt. One by one, Mew found all of the pieces except for the last one which was hidden in a tree. The tree was cut down before Mew was able to retrieve it leaving the present Tong bought for Mew incomplete. Tong was disappointed at their misfortune, but Mew remained grateful for Tong’s efforts. Tang called her parent’s and told them that she would extend her stay at Chiangmai until the 24th of December. Tong looks at his calendar and realizes that Tang will not be able to attend the Christmas play he would participate in.

After the Christmas play, Tong receives a phone call from his parents telling him to stay with Mew and his grandma. After spending the night at Mew’s house, Tong awakens to the sight of his parents along with Mew and his grandma. Tong is told that his parents are going to Chiangmai a couple days to look for Tang. Tong lives in depression until his parents come back, only to find out that Tang may be lost. Tong is devastated and cries in front of Mew, who is trying to comfort his friend.

Months have passed and Tong’s family decides to move. On the day of the move, Tong finds Mew sitting on a ledge overlooking a pier. Tong says his final words and departs in a car. Tong looks back only to find Mew walking towards the car before coming to a stop and crying for losing his best friend.

Six years pass. The boys are reunited during their senior year of high school at Siam Square. The musically talented Mew is the leader of a boy band called August. Tong has a pretty girlfriend, Donut. The meeting stirs up old feelings that Mew has harbored since boyhood, his love for Tong.

Mew’s band, meanwhile, has a new manager, June. She looks just like Tong’s long-lost sister, Tang. After meeting June, Tong and his mother, Sunee, devise to a plan to pay June to pretend she is Tang, in hopes that it will pull Tong’s father out of his alcoholic depression. Tang borrows a story from the Thai film Ruk Jung, saying she has amnesia, which is why she has forgotten how to say her family’s Catholic grace at the dinner table.

Mew is also the object of an unrequited crush of a neighbor girl, Ying. But Mew has strong feelings for Tong, which have inspired him to write new songs. The manager as well as the entire band were all impressed with Mew’s composition.

The boys share a prolonged kiss in Tong’s backyard one night after a party in honor of the return of Tang. Prior to that Tong also spends the night with Mew, which causes his mother to worry.

At Christmas time, as Tong and his mother are decorating a Christmas tree, they have a heart-to-heart talk about making choices, and Tong asks his mother to let him make his own choices.

Tong then goes to Siam Square for a date with Donut. Mew’s band is playing nearby, so Tong abandons Donut and tells her he cannot be with her. He then rushes to see Mew play and is guided there by Ying, who has accepted the fact that Mew loves Tong. After the performance, Tong gives Mew a gift, a missing nose from a wooden doll that Tong gave him when they were children. However, Tong tells Mew he can’t be his boyfriend but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love Mew.

The movie ended with Mew putting the missing nose back to the wooden puppet, saying “thank you” and cried quietly.

————————————-
OST
————————————-

The soundtrack of this movie has very catchy tunes even if it is in Thai. Most of the songs is about “Love.”

REVIEW:oggsmoggs
————————————-
To label Chukiat Sakveerakul’s The Love of Siam as simply a gay teen romance is to misjudge its power and intention. Within the two and a half hour running time (the director’s cut is reportedly four hours long) of the film, Sakveerakul essays not only the two young leads’ reunion and inevitable attraction but also a family’s slow and painful road to accepting a long-delayed reality. I would like to think that The Love of Siam, above everything else, seeks to reaffirm the life-affirming values of loving and being loved without sacrificing the portrayal of the very palpable pain that usually accompanies the emotion.

The twenty-minute prologue tracks the histories of young Mew (Arthit Niyomkul) and Tong (Jirayu La-ongmanee), who are both schoolmates and neighbors. They form a very close friendship which was abruptly ended when Tong’s family had to move out when **** (Laila Boonyasuk), Tong’s elder sister, went missing during a trip in Chiang Mai, causing the family tremendous and irreparable sorrow. Years later, Mew (Witwisit Hirunwongkul), lead singer and composer for an up and coming boy band, again crosses path with Tong (Mario Maurer), who is struggling at home with his domineering mother (Sinjai Plengpanich) and alcoholic father (Songsit Rungnopakunsri). The two reconnect and inevitably fall for each other, disrupting whatever peace they have grown accustomed to.

To make matters more complicated, Mew’s Chinese neighbor Ying (Kanya Rattanapetch) is hopelessly in love with Mew, not knowing of his homosexual tendencies. On the other hand, Tong is currently dating Donut (Aticha Pongsilpipat), presumably not knowing of his own homosexual tendencies too. Tong’s family, more specifically the father who’s been spending days and nights drinking, is still suffering from the loss of ****. June (also played by Boonyasuk), Mew’s band manager who looks a lot like ****, is then recruited to pose as the long lost daughter, momentarily easing the father of his staggered pains.

The Siam in the title refers to Siam Square, a shopping district in Bangkok where most teens hang out to shop, dine, meet, and have fun. Siam Square, in the eyes of the Bangkok youth, has become both the place for welcomes and farewells, of declarations of love and hurtful break-ups, of chance encounters and scheduled meetings. In the film, the popular venue is not only the setting for Mew and Tong’s reunion and the numerous other events in the story but it also represents the unpredictability of the many facets of love which the film so intricately paints. While Siam Square or any other shopping mecca are ordinarily thought of as accessories to the bastardization of love and romance because it commonly equates blatant commercialism with the love’s outward depictions like dating, gift-giving, and hanging out, The Love of Siam uses that very element to depict love’s many wanderings and permutations. Underneath the glow of the traditionally amiable romance, The Love of Siam strives to say something more about the act of loving, whether romantically or familial: that it is more a nebulous network-like journey to maintain hope than a straight path to the assumed happy ending.

In fact, The Love of Siam ends without any of its characters fulfilling the traditional conclusions of a love story. There are no happily-ever-afters or expected closures. Instead, the film ends with a mere spark of hope. That hope that closes the film actually opens up million of possibilities for its characters, as numerous as the countless fortuitous encounters in Siam Square that initiate relationships between strangers or abruptly conclude long-standing affairs all within the fateful movement of time. Sakveerakul drafts a bittersweet ode to the complexities of loving, which commercial cinema has tended to avoid throughout the years. What he exclaims in The Love of Siam is that daringly traversing outside the common simplicities of love is far more gratifying than safely assuming formula.

Through the interconnected lives of two boys who are on the verge of self-awareness amidst their own individual conflicts and the people surrounding them, Sakveerakul notes that love survives notwithstanding the dilemmas that pervade the world. As Ying translates from a Chinese song, “as long as there is love, there is hope.” Corny as it sounds, the Bangkok of The Love of Siam thrives on that noble aspiration, without knowing that it does so.

————————————-
REVIEW
————————————-
The movie mainly revolves on Love. Love of friends, love of family, and evenlove in termsof relationship and hopeless romantics.

So, watch this film, overlook the “gay theme” and learn about loving and respecting other people.

and another thing, Kanya Rattanapetch, the one wearing pink, is <3!:)) hehe…:D

The One about Acceptance

January 31, 2009

Did you ever think that you’re worth nothing? that everything that is happening to you is all wrong? did you ever feel that you’re useless and your weak and easily broken?

life is like that, most of the time, we fall down, get hurt, and feel inferior. but we should try to stand up, stand tall, and correct what we have done before. life maybe unfair, but did you ever think about other people? people who are born with disabilities. people who lives like there is no hope anymore. the blind, the mentally handicapped, the mute, the deaf.

did you ever think how they feel for themselves?

we should be thankful for what we have, life is unfair, that’s a fact. but we must look at it in another way. people with disabilities try their best to do better, why? so they can be accepted by the people. so that they won’t be discriminated and pushed aside.

i remember the story of Ms. Roselle Ambubuyog, the1st Filipina visually-impaired summa cum laude graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University (2001). She refused to go to handicap school because she believes that she is just like anybody else. She went to school, read braille textbooks and eventually, she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

“All of us have our own disabilities. Mine is more obvious. I can represent what it means to go beyond one’s limitations with determination, perseverance, the help of others, and the grace of God.”
- Roselle Ambubuyog

here is another story about being able to accept who you are. being able to see that you can stand up if you fall. even if we fail, we must try, and try, and try. because eventually, we will be able to stand again. and the scars that we obtain from trying, let it be a reminder that we can stand up, no matter how hard and painful it might be.

Here is a story of Nick Vujicic, he has no arms or legs but has come to terms with his lot in life. Here’s an inspirational speech that he delivered. simple, yet heart felt.

Are You Going to Finish Strong?

think | reflect | pray

The one about letting go.

January 18, 2009

sorry i haven’t been updating much. school’s been a real pain. seriously. quizzes, exams, projects, laboratory experiments, even unbearable professors. ugh! makes my head throb like its gonna burst or something. but enough about that. i wanna write something about letting go.

i am a paulo coelho fan. i’ve been trying to collect all of his books eversince i read “the alchemist.” i really can’t collect them in an instant because they cost way too high here in the philippines. so, i bought “the zahir” before, but my copy got lost.:( luckily, someone gave a copy to me as a gift. hehehe.. so i’ve read it twice now and i can’t get a quote from that book out of my mind. and, yeah, it is about letting someone go.

When someone leaves, it’s because someone else is about to arrive - I’ll find love again.

Loving someone is not really a lasting thing. in one way or another, one gets tired of the same treatment he/she gets from the person he/she thought can make him/her feel loved. and sometimes, they tend to leave without even saying a word. that is really painful. but in reading “the zahir,” it taught me that when someone we love so much leaves, we just have to accept it and move on. it might be difficult for us to let him/her go, but it reality, we just have to. the feeling we once had with that special person is now a one-way avenue. it can never be reciprocated again. so it is better to move on and let go, rather than staying in self-pity. because after all, we should learn from this mistake. we should look at the positive outcome from a bad experience. and like it says in the book. maybe, it happened, because someone out ther is meant for us. someonewho will love us, cherish us, and make us fall in love with them over and over again. someday, we will be able to find the one who is meant for us. for now, we just hve to wait and see.

The One about waiting…

January 11, 2009

I WILL WAIT FOR YOU

This is one from a series of photographs i took for a project in school during first year. we were tasked to do a sort of picture story that is about Literature being seen in our daily lives. i chose the most obvious topic, EVERYTHING.To me, everything is literature, it’s in a matter on how you see things. for instance, this chair, how do you see it? some see it as a chair, some will see it as wood, and some will see it differently. for me, this chair tells a story and a lesson. Lesson about life, about friendship, and about loving.

Some people are fond of waiting. waiting for the bus, the train, the cab, the airplane. waiting for the food orders, the change, or the service. waiting for the truth, thehonesty, and the forgiveness. this chair can represent all, but i see it as a chair for US. A chair set there reserved for us, because God is waiting for us. I wanted this picture to look as if God is the one who took the picture, and we are the ones who he is waiting for. God loves us and He wants to talk to us. He is not a thing that you will just abandon when you get tired of it. He is not a piece of trash that you throw away and forget. but rather, He is precious. He is our Father, our guide. He loved us sio much that God sent His son, Jesus. and Jesus showed us how much God loved us. He died on the cross… for us. He took everything without reclaims. He loved us, as God loves us.

Sometimes we think that we are worthless people because of past relationships, failures, and other things. but in God’s eyes, we are all the same. God doesn’t judge, He doesn’t abandon. Even if you do alot of stupid things, He will be always by your side. waiting for you to reach for His hands and sit with Him, talk to Him. Ifyou feel that the world ison your shoulders, always remember, you can always talk to Him. He’s always in His home, the church, the chapel, your friends, in your heart. God is always there waiting. and if you doubt God’s love for you, just look at the cross. That’s how much God loves you and ready to accept you with arms open wide.

so, find time to visit a chapel, take atleast a minute of your time to sit, be still, open your heart, and let God talk to you. He misses you! He’s there waiting…
